Sharon passed from this earth entering her eternal home with our Heavenly Father peacefully, on the evening of February 10, 2022, at her home in Sterlington, Louisiana. She was 72 years old. Sharon is predeceased by her parents, John and Ernestine Shuff and brother, Clyde Shuff.
Sharon was born in Pioneer, LA on June 22, 1949. She attended Pioneer High School where she participated in cheerleading, softball, and basketball. After high school, Sharon moved to Monroe, Louisiana to attend beauty school. Upon graduating she worked as a beautician for many years. Thereafter, Sharon married Marvin Simpson, her husband of forty-two years. They later made their home in Sterlington, Louisiana where they owned a convenient store, Simpson’s One Stop. Together, Sharon and Marvin ran a successful business working side by side daily. It was often said that “Marvin was the brains, but Sharon was the muscle”. Upon retirement, Sharon was able to spend valuable time with her family and precious grandchildren. That time, which is now so treasured, and where memories that were made will always keep her alive in the hearts of those who loved her most.
Sharon and Marvin shared five children together, daughters, Lisa Reed and husband, Mike, Julie Bush and husband, Mike, Amanda Mann and husband, Justin. Sons, Jonathon Anderson, and Brantley Simpson and wife Mandi. Eleven grandchildren, Skyler, Chelsea and Olivia Reed, Ally, Austin and Hayden Bush, Ryan Williamson, James Peyton and Presley Mann, Ashlynn Anderson, Dylan Wiley and Christian Stamey.
Better known as “Grammie”, Sharon was the happiest when she was surrounded by her grandchildren. She spent as much time with them as possible and loved on them like no other. They were her whole heart as she was theirs. She especially enjoyed watching James Peyton play baseball and attending Presley’s church Christmas plays and softball games.
Sharon was a simple woman who enjoyed cooking, family reunions and especially the holidays. It was well known that Sharon’s holiday traditions were not to be disturbed. She expected her family to be at her house around her dining table for the holidays no matter the circumstances. Sharon could best be described as hardworking, strong-willed, honest, with a heart of gold. Sharon and Marvin shared many good times together throughout their marriage. Marvin will truly be lost without the daily love and guidance that Sharon brought to his life.
Serving as pallbearers will be Johnny Ford, Kerry Hill, Clay Hollingsworth, Mike “Fuzz” Jones, Logan Nolan, Chad Pruitt, Clint Reeves and Ryan Williamson.
