Sharol Blake Handel

Graveside services for Sharol Blake Handel, 77, of West Monroe will be held at the Northeast Louisiana Veterans Cemetery in Rayville, LA at 10:00 A.M. Friday, September 30, 2022, with Rev. Gordon “Skip” Dean officiating under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe.

Sharol Blake Handel was born February 11, 1945, in Urania, LA and passed away on Tuesday, September 27, 2022, in West Monroe, LA. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin Samuel Handel and her parents, Montie and Wilma Blake.

Mrs. Handel is survived by her children, Sharolyn Handel of Shreveport, LA, Angela Handel Miller and husband, Wayne of Columbia, MD, and Eddie Handel of West Monroe, LA. She is also survived by her grandson, Nathan Miller of Columbia, MD.

Sharol graduated from Central High School in Franklin Parish in 1963. She raised three children and worked in the daycare field for over 30 years.

Sharol was an avid collector of many different figurines, dolls, and collectibles; she also enjoyed reading poetry. She was a big football fan, and really enjoyed cheering on her LSU Tigers and West Monroe Rebels. She was an animal lover and happiest when she was enjoying time with her dogs.
