Services for Sedley Lewis Parks, Jr., 92 of Oak Ridge will be 11:00AM Saturday, December 6, 2014 in the Mulhearn Chapel with Rev. Brian Mercer officiating. Interment will follow in the Oak Ridge Baptist Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home-Rayville.Mr. Parks was born on December 17, 1921 in Union Parish and passed from this life on December 2, 2014 at his residence in Oak Ridge. He was a farmer and a rural mail carrier. He served in the Army during WWII.He is preceded in death by his wife of 67 years-Mildred Marie Williams Parks and parents-Sedley Lewis Parks, Sr. and Faye Joule McGough.He is survived by a son-Fredrick Lewis Parks, Sr. and wife Jan of Baton Rouge; a daughter-Millicent Parks McConnell and husband Billy of Ruston; a sister-Laizane Parks Farrell of Davenport, Iowa; five grandchildren-Brad Parks and wife Jennifer of Baton Rouge, Lew Parks, Jr. and wife Kristy of Baton Rouge, Clay McConnell and wife Baskin of Ruston, Melissa McConnell Merritt and husband Austin of Austin, TX, and Wesley McConnell and wife Elise of Ruston; nine great grandchildren; and a host of other beloved nieces, nephews, and family friends.Grandsons and great grandsons-Brad Parks, Lew Parks, Jr., Clay McConnell, Austin Merritt, Wesley McConnell, Tyler Parks, Parks McConnell, Lewis Parks, and Matthew Merritt will serve as pallbearers.Visitation will be 10:00 till service time in the Mulhearn Chapel.Online registry/condolences made at www.mulhearnfuneralhome.com.Arrangements under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Rayville, LA.
