Sandra Gay Brown Humphries

Funeral services for Sandra Gay Brown Humphries, 75, of Monroe, will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, December 30, 2017, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe, with Rev. Aaron Dickinson officiating. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mrs. Humphries was born February 8, 1942, and passed away Wednesday, December 27, 2017. She attended NELA School of Nursing and graduated from Ouachita Valley Vocational School. Mrs. Humphries worked as a surgical nurse at Conway Hospital, Morehouse Parish Hospital, and retired from the Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Department. She had a love of the outdoors enjoying fishing, hunting, and working in her flower garden. Mrs. Humphries was a member of Swartz First Baptist Church.

Mrs. Humphries was preceded in death by her father, Abner T. Brown.

Survivors include her husband of 52 years, Burl Humphries; mother, Anna Dell Brown; sister, Diane Corry; daughter, Kim Spencer; sons, Eric Humphries and wife Tammy, and Cliff Humphries and daughter-in-law, Teresa Humphries; grandsons, Caleb Burns, C. J. Robinson, and Chris McKittrick; granddaughter, Leigha McKittrick; great-grandson, Brady Burns, and great-granddaughter, Kylie McKittrick.

Visitation will be Friday from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Mulhearn Funeral Home.
