Samuel L. "Sammy" Stanley

Memorial Services for Samuel L. "Sammy" Stanley, 73, of Calhoun, LA, will be held at 6:00 P.M., Tuesday, November 24, 2020, at First Baptist Church in Calhoun, LA, with Bro. Neil Everett officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. until service time on Tuesday at the church.

Mr. Stanley was born on June 5, 1947, in Lake Providence, LA and died on November 17, 2020, in Ruston, LA.

Sammy loved his family. His greatest joy in life was being Papaw to his five grandchildren. He enjoyed traveling the world with his job as an Environmental Inspector on pipelines. During his off time, you could find him playing cards or dominos with anyone up for the challenge. He also had a passion for fishing. He was an excellent storyteller and had a host of stories to share.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Gladys Statham; and brothers, Dan Stanley, Billy Stanley, and Mark Devall.

Survivors include his son, David Stanley and wife Noelle; daughter, Lesli Causey and husband Rick; siblings, Paul Stanley and wife Rosary, Elaine Horrell, Diana White and husband Dean, and Jerry Statham; grandchildren, Micah Causey, Milo Stanley, Phoenix Stanley, Emilee Causey, and Beckham Stanley; and many nieces and nephews.
