Samuel Donald Ticheli

March 5, 1956 — August 9, 2015

A memorial service for Samuel Donald Ticheli will be held at White’s Ferry Road Church of Christ in West Monroe, LA on Tuesday, August 11, 2015 at 1:00 P.M. with Bro. Brian Wells of Jennings, LA and Bro. Ray Wells of Pineville, LA officiating assisted by Bro. Mike Kellett of White’s Ferry Road Church of Christ. Samuel, at the age of 59, lost his battle to cancer on Sunday, August 9, 2015, at his residence in West Monroe, LA. Visitation with the family will begin at 12:00 P.M. and continue following the service.Sammy was a retired computer programmer analyst that chose to widen his abilities and interest far beyond his years of employment. With a great love for fishing and building things with his hands, he made impressions on people everywhere he went. His ability to draw ranged anywhere from sketching people and scenes to drawing blue prints for his cousin, Michael’s stained glass business. He loved to talk and share whatever knowledge he had about the topic at hand. If he did not know how to do something, he would research and read and teach himself and by the time he finished whatever project he challenged himself with, he was an expert. And everything was always done to perfection and top notch – nothing less would do. One of his loves of his younger years was motorcycling which was something he enjoyed doing with his daughter, Samantha. That love was rekindled in recent years with his son, Caleb. Sammy channeled one of his dreams last year through Caleb when Caleb bought a place with a 2-story shop. You would have thought that Caleb struck gold!! And Sammy was very proud of both of his children in everything they did and stood for. He never worried but always knew confidently that they would both succeed in life and always land on their feet regardless to what endeavor they faced.Sammy was born in Monroe, LA on March 5, 1956 and after growing up in Monroe, decided to spread his wings by moving around a bit. He lived in Hammond, LA; Alexandria, LA; Fort Smith, AR; Birmingham, AL; and Monroeville, AL before returning to his home area to reside in West Monroe until his death.Sammy is preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Pauline Ticheli. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 22 years, Julie Bolton Ticheli of West Monroe, LA; daughter, Samantha Dawn Ticheli Kirkland along with Jody Kirkland and their 3 daughters, Gavin Leive, Zadie Dawn and Jonah Grace of Panama City Beach, FL; son, Caleb Samuel Ticheli of West Monroe, LA; sister, Sandy Moore and her husband, Paul, of West Monroe, LA; brother, Peter Ticheli of Lawrenceville, GA; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.Sammy may be gone but his memory will live on through his children and grandchildren and all the small and great things he built….Donations can be made to the American Cancer Society in lieu of flowers.Online Registry/ Condolences: www.mulhearnfuneralhome.com
