Funeral Services for Sammy Michael “Mike” King, 67, of West Monroe, LA will be held at 2:00PM Tuesday, February 12, 2019 in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe with Dr. Jim Wolfe officiating. Interment will follow in Kilpatrick’s Serenity Gardens Cemetery.
Mr. King was born January 14, 1952 in Bossier City, LA, and passed from this life on February 10, 2019. Mr. King was a veteran US Army officer as well as a Veteran Naval officer, the later in which he served his country for many years. He earned a college degree in Science from the University of New York majoring in Criminal Justice. He served as a Command Investigator working with the NCIS. Mr. King was a veteran Ouachita Parish Sheriff and Monroe City Police Officer. After the military, Mr. King was an owner/operator of a cross country semi-truck for 15 years until his retirement.
He is preceded in death by his father, William Leon King; grandparents, Sam and Ora Antley, and Oscar and Julie King.
Survivors include his mother, Elsie V. King; brother, Jerry L. King and wife Dianne; nephew, Shawn King and wife Jennie; great nephews, Drew and Brett King; nieces, Brooklyn, Lindy, and Caroline King; aunts and uncles, and many friends.
Visitation will be held from 1:00PM until service time on Tuesday.
Memorials may be made to Ridge Avenue Baptist Church and to the American Cancer Society.
