Funeral services celebrating the life of Mrs. Sally Ann Roach, 85, of West Monroe, LA, will be held at 10:00 AM Friday May 31, 2019, at Feazel Chapel at First Baptist Church in West Monroe, LA with Dr. Woods Watson officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Calhoun, LA, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home in West Monroe, LA.
Mrs. Roach went to be with the Lord on May 28, 2019, at her residence surrounded by her family.
Sally was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church in West Monroe. She was a teacher in the Ouachita Parish School System for 20 years. After retirement, she owned an antique shop named “Recollections” in the old Spencer School House. Sally enjoyed Agape Sunday School at First West, where she made lifelong friends. She was a joy to others and was known as “Miss Sally” by friends and “Mama Sally” by grandchildren. She loved sewing, playing the piano and guitar and hosting estate sales.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Wesley David and Bertie Mae Polk Taylor; sister, Nita Faye Taylor and brother, Wesley Taylor.
Survivors: Her husband of 64 years, Wiley E. Roach; Daughters, Donna Craighead, Nita R. Little and husband, Steve, and Rachel Roach; Son, David Roach and wife, Kim; Nine Grandchildren, Jaclyn Heard Cooper and husband Billy Cooper, Bonnie Hibbard and husband Chris Carr, Lindsey Hibbard, William Roach and fiancée Holly Long, Lauren Hampton, Whitney Hampton Voss and husband Zach Voss, Emily Little Clayton and husband Chace Clayton, Wesley Little and Nicholas Levet; and Ten Great Grandchildren, Kennedy Cooper, Jackson Cooper, Holden Cooper, Aubrey Cooper, Jaycee Albritton, Abbie Albritton, Emma Carr, Cannon Watts, Remington Clayton and Elijah Clayton; several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Wesley Little, Will Roach, Nick Levet, Billy Cooper Jr., Chace Clayton, Mark Taylor and Chuck Finley. Honorary Pallbearers will be Dr. F. P. Cobb, Buddy, Hollis, Dr. Clyde Elliott, Sam Henry, John Kelly, Earl Keaton, Kevin Craighead, and Johnny Wilbanks.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Thursday at Mulhearn Funeral Home in West Monroe, LA.
The family would like to give special thanks to her cousin, Ann Murray and Dr. Clyde Elliott for their special care they gave our mother.
Memorials may be made to the Louisiana Baptist Children’s Home.
