Sallie Jane Caulfield

Graveside services for Sallie Caulfield, 97, of West Monroe will be held at 11:00AM Wednesday, November 2, 2022, at the Hasley Cemetery Pavilion in West Monroe, LA, with Rev. W. C. Hatten officiating under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe.

Mrs. Caulfield was born on February 18, 1925, in Winston-Salem, NC and passed away on October 31, 2022, in West Monroe, LA.

Mother was a Member of the Greatest Generation that ever lived, working in the Pentagon for 10 years during WWII. She was raised in Lynchburg, Virginia, moving to West Monroe, LA with her family in 1957. Mom still called Virginia her home until the last 15 years of her life. She attended Highland Baptist Church. Mother devoted her life to her family, especially to our Precious Brother, Philip. She also devoted as much time as she could to better the lives of the Residents at GB Cooley, all while raising 6 children of her own.

Mrs. Caulfield was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Caulfield; parents, Ernest and Annie Grace Gibson; sons, Larry Caulfield and Philip Caulfield; brothers, Lewis Gibson, Denny Gibson; and sisters, Edith Buha and Meta Gilchrist.

Survivors include sons, John Caulfield (Kathy), Mark Caulfield (Mary); daughters, Susan Caulfield Shields (Fred), Sallie Caulfield Schexnaider (John Lambert; and daughter-in-law, Mary Caulfield.

Memorials may be made to G.B. Cooley Services and to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
