Funeral services for Ruth A. Neal, 92, of Monroe, La, will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, January 28, 2017 at Chapel Mausoleum-Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery with Bro. Thomas A. Crow officiating, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home in Monroe.
Ruth passed away on Sunday, January 22, 2017 at Henderson Health & Rehabilitation Center in Henderson, Texas after suffering a brief illness.
Born July 24, 1924 in Hugo, Okla., Ruth was the daughter of the late Wade William Adcock and Lona Songer Adcock.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Stewart Neal; sister, Bernice McCoy and brother, Haskell Adcock.
Ruth was raised in Lake Village, Ark. and was a graduate of Lake Village High School.
She was a home maker, a devoted wife, loving mother and aunt.
Survivors include her son, Jay Neal and wife Leslie of Henderson, TX; granddaughters, Courtney Neal of Charlotte, NC and Amy Neal of Henderson, TX; and grandson, Collin Neal of Henderson, TX. Ruth is also survived by niece, Diane McGee Roberts, and husband Lannis of Spring, TX and nephew, William "Mike" McGee, and wife Barbara of Houston, TX.
She was a member of Lea Joyner United Methodist Church in Monroe for over 55 years. Ruth loved worshiping the Lord with all her treasured friends at Lea Joyner; where she was active in the senior adult choir.
Special thanks to the staff of Henderson Health & Rehab for three years of care and to Grace Visiting Nurses (hospice).
Visitation will take place immediately before and after the services.
