Russell Dean Stayton Mulhearn Funeral HomeWest Monroe, LA Funeral Services for Russell Dean Stayton, 94, of West Monroe, LA will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, August 9, 2014 in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe with Don DeLukie and Travis Bookout officiating. Interment will follow in Antioch Cemetery in Spearsville, LA.Mr. Stayton was born May 29, 1920 in Judith Gap, Montana to Charles and Bertha Webb Stayton and passed away August 6, 2014 in West Monroe, LA. He was a longtime member of the Jackson Street Church of Christ and retired from the United States Air Force, where he served as an aircraft maintenance officer. A World War II veteran, he spent 36 months in New Guinea. Russell was an avid fisherman and gardener. He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Ruby Hunt Stayton; sisters, Dollie Lee Stayton and Faye Stayton Umbdenstock; brothers, Charles F. Stayton and Thomas Webb Stayton.Survivors include his daughter, Wanda Fuller and husband, Jim; grandson, Brian Fuller and wife, Charissa; granddaughter, Laura Mulvany and husband, James; great grandchildren, Dallas, Carter and Brenden Fuller, Anna and Ethan Mulvany; sisters-in-law, Mena Stayton and Irmadean Hunt; and several nieces and nephews.Pallbearers will be Phil Riley, Ricky Hudnall, Glenn Aulds, Gerald Bloxham, Terry Ware and Arden Miller.Honorary Pallbearers will be Leon Telford and Leroy Kinnison.Visitation will be held from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M., Friday, August 8, 2014 at Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe.The family would like to thank Mr. Stayton’s caregivers, Margie Simon, Hallie Branson and Shenita Browhow, and also, Landmark Nursing Home.Online Registry/Condolences: www.mulhearnfuneralhome.com
