Ruby Jewel Spears Shepherd

Graveside Services for Mrs. Ruby Jewel Spears Shepherd, 79, of West Monroe, LA, will be held at 2:00 P.M., Monday, January 22, 2018, at Hasley Cemetery in West Monroe, LA, with Rev. Dale Mercer officiating under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe, LA.

Mrs. Shepherd was born August 30, 1938, and passed away January 17, 2018. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. Mrs. Shepherd was a wonderful lady with a heart of gold. She lived for loving her family and friends, but was also loved by everyone. She enjoyed her work and family at Bingo and was also an avid Pokeno player.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Doris and Howard Spears; husband, J.C. Shepherd, II; son, James Shepherd, III; and sister, Jeannie Spears.

Survivors include her son, Howard Shepherd of West Monroe, LA; daughter, Jamie Shepherd of West Monroe, LA; sister, Libby Townsend and husband Buddy; seven grandchildren, Skyler Wright, Lee Shepherd, Kansas Shepherd, Lacy Johnson, Kerry Johnson, Clayton Donaldson and Clay Sims; and twelve great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M., Sunday, January 21, 2018, at Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe, LA.
