Funeral services celebrating the life of Ruby Evelyn Whitman Weaver, 94, of West Monroe, Louisiana, will be held at 1:00 P.M., Tuesday, September 3, 2024, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home with Alan Robertson officiating. Interment will follow immediately after at Kilpatrick’s Serenity Gardens Cemetery, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home. The visitation will be held from 11:00 A.M. until the time of service at Mulhearn Funeral Home West Monroe.
She was born in West Monroe, Louisiana on February 24, 1930, and passed away on August 26, 2024, in Tampa, Florida.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Benny H. Weaver; parents, Emmett and Frances Whitman; and brother, James C. “Jimmy” Whitman.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Angela Weaver Jackson and her husband, William Sill; and one grandchild, Elias Zane Jackson; her sister, Edna Ruth Douglas; sister-in-law, Ellen Whitman; brother-in-law, Marshall Weaver; along with many other family, friends, and loved ones who were loved by her and will continue to cherish her memory.
Ruby had a long career with the Social Security Administration and was a long-standing member of the White’s Ferry Road Church of Christ and their Golden Sixties Group. She was a lover of animals, nature, camping and fishing. Some of her cherished memories were the activities and time she shared with family and friends. Her travels brought her happiness, and she spoke of them often as some of her best times.

The pallbearers will be Charles Whitman, Jay Stone, Adrian Smith and Brad Smith.
A gathering for family and friends will be held from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M., Sunday, September 1, 2024, at the The Landing on the Bayou, 6310 Whites Ferry Road, West Monroe, Louisiana 71291.
