Roy Glenn Eady

December 12, 1940 — October 2, 2021

Roy was born in Ouachita Parish on December 12, 1940. He departed from his earthly life on October 2, 2021, at the age of 80. He was a lifelong resident of Ouachita Parish except for the years he spent in Alaska serving as a United States Army Soldier.

Roy is survived by his wife of 50 years, Wanda Jones Eady; his sister, Evelyn Martin; his brother, Clyde Eady; and sister-in-law, Vera Eady, all of West Monroe, LA. Also leaving behind sister-in-law, Hilda Baugh; brother-in law, Wade Graham, and wife, Jenell; and brother-in-law, Waymond Jones and wife, Kathy. He also has numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews, and great-great nieces and great-great nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Alvie and Novie Eady; sister, Victoria Kennedy; and brothers, Robert Eady, Harvie Eady, and Donald Eady.

Roy worked as a Machinist for most of his life, having spent over 35 years at Southern Tool Company in West Monroe. He took great pride in the huge packaging machines, some of which he helped build, install, and maintain. Roy had a real zest for life and a very laid-back personality. He usually found humor in most circumstances. If Roy knew you for very long, he would in most cases give you a nickname that stuck with you for the rest of your life (just ask the guys who worked at Southern Tool with him, or hunting buddies, or family members!)

He had some special friends who will miss him greatly: Clifton Snell, Jack Porter, and David Hill, who are serving as his Honorary Pallbearers. Other pallbearers are Heath Snell, Jay Snell, Mike Eady, Wesley Jones, Victor Kennedy, and W.H. George.

Special thanks to Linda Deville, his CNA/Sitter extraordinaire, who took such special and loving care of him.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, October 6, 2021, at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Salisbury and Rev. Ricky Baker officiating. Interment will be at the Sardis Cemetery in West Monroe, LA under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home West Monroe.
