Funeral services for Mr. Routon A. Fairbanks, 80, of Collingston, LA, will be held at 4:00 PM Wednesday, October 31, 2007, at the Mulhearn Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel with Rev. Stewart Robinette officiating. Interment will follow in Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.
Mr. Fairbanks passed away Sunday, October 28, 2007 at his residence after a lengthy illness. He worked at KNOE-TV for forty years. He was Governor Noe’s boat captain and he was known by his co-workers at KNOE as Buddy. He was a U. S. Army veteran of the Korean War.
Survivors include his wife, Iris Lucille S. Fairbanks; son, Robert (Bobby) Poirier and wife Connie of Farmerville, LA; daughter, Cynthia Brown and husband Dallas of Collingston, LA; two grandchildren, Scott Poirier, and Michell Poirier Ferrin; one great grandchild, Robert Dwight Ferrin; brothers, Sonny King and wife Betty of Bastrop, LA, and Ronnie King of Harrisonburg, LA; sister, Mary Florence Roberts of Georgia; and a host of friends and other extended family.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.
