Rosemary Williamson McGrew

Funeral services celebrating the life of Rosemary Williamson McGrew, 85, of West Monroe, Louisiana will be held at 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, January 14, 2025, at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church with Dr. Woods Watson and Rev. Chad Ballard officiating. Interment will follow immediately after at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church Cemetery, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe. The visitation will be held from 9:00 A.M. until the time of service.

Rosemary Williamson McGrew was born on April 19,1939 and went home to be with her Lord and Savior on January 10, 2025.

Rosemary is survived by her brother, Travis “Trell” Williamson of Dacula, Georgia; her daughters, Cynthia McGrew of West Monroe, and Jennifer McGrew Stilwell and husband, Byron Stilwell of West Monroe. Rosemary is additionally survived by her grandson, Heath Griffin of Silsbee, Texas; and her great grandsons, Gabriel Dean Griffin of Rosenburg, Texas, and Kaiden Griffin of Bastrop, Louisiana; as well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Rosemary is preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Dean McGrew; her mother and father, Lillie Mae Williamson and NT “Tid” Williamson; and her sisters, Margie Smith and Sue Gehm.

Rosemary was a life-long resident of the West Monroe Louisiana area. Rosemary married the love of her life Dean McGrew in 1957 and the two were inseparable for 67 years of marriage until Dean passed away on November 30, 2024. Forty days later they are now inseparable in eternity in Heaven. Rosemary was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was also a long-time active member of the Mt. Vernon Baptist Church. 

Our family would like to extend our loving and grateful appreciation to Elara Hospice and the entire staff of Georgia Tucker for their sincere and loving care for Rosemary. We would also like to express our love and sincere thanks to Ms. Joy Martin for her special care for both Rosemary and Dean McGrew during these last months of life. We cannot thank you all enough for what you all did for Dean and Rosemary and truly for our entire family with your loving care.

Pall Bearers for Rosemary will be Wayne Rutledge, Terry Sims, Lance Sims, Kaiden Griffin, Gabriel Griffin, and Bobby Craighead.
