Rose Maurine Johnson Floyd

Funeral services for Rose Maurine Johnson Floyd, 79, of Monroe, will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, February 2, 2013, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe, with Rev. Johnny Funderburg officiating. Private family interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mrs. Floyd passed away Thursday, January 31, 2013, at St. Francis Medical Center. She was an active member of North Monroe Baptist Church, and a very loving single mom that devoted her life to her children and grandchildren. Mrs. Floyd loved Neville football, the New Orleans Saints, the Beach Bunch, and numerous other friends.

Mrs. Floyd was preceded in death by her husbands, S. J. Johnson and Bill Floyd.

Survivors include her daughter, Jackie Jones and husband Jimmy; son, Bill Johnson and wife Dawn; grandchildren, Jennifer Johnson Keith and husband Wes, Jay Johnson, Billy Johnson, Abby Johnson, and Chad Jones; one great grandson, Jack Wesley Keith; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Honorary pallbearers will be Terry Gannaway, Petey Perot, Joe Raymond Peace, Bob Lane, Cliff Lane, Tommy Grigson, Dr. Dennis Surratt, Al Miller, Ken Johnson, and Bob Freeman.

Visitation will be Saturday from 9:00 AM until service time at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Charles Morgan and staff, and the entire staff at Avalon Place.

Memorials may be made to North Monroe Baptist Church or to a charity of your choice.
