A funeral mass celebrating the life of Mrs. Rose Mary Messina Ditta, 89, of Monroe, LA will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday October 16, 2014 at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Monroe, LA. With Rev. Joseph A. Martina, Jr. officiating. Interment will be in St. Matthews Catholic Mausoleum, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home in Monroe, LAMrs. Ditta died October 12, 2014 Mrs. Ditta was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and wife. Rose loved to cook, dance, and entertain her friends. She never met a stranger and was the life of the party. She surrounded everyone with love and laughter, and will be missed by many.She was preceded in death by her husband, Vincent Ditta, daughter, Vineece Smith, sisters, Angie Bruscato, Sarah Dispenza, Mary Messina, Martha Rizzuto and Josephine Buttitta; brothers, Tony, Joe, Frank, and Sam Messina.Survivors: Daughter, Deborah Ditta Miletello; Grandchildren, Brantlee McConaughey, Taylor McConaughey, Brittany Smith, Matthew Smith; great granddaughter, Aria Rose Surratt; Son-in-law, Steve Smith; Brother, Mr. Carey Messina; and special niece and nephews and a host of friends.Pallbearers will be Tony Bruscato, Brantlee McConaughey, Steve Smith, Matthew Smith, Butch Miletello, John Cruz, Amico Rizzuto and Jimmy RizzutoVisitation will be from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M.
