A graveside service celebrating the life of Ronald Quin Nix will be held Thursday, October 3, at 10:00 am at the Downsville Cemetery in Downsville, Louisiana with Waymond Warren, Ron's pastor and friend, officiating.
Ron was born September 25, 1948, in Oak Grove, Louisiana, and went to his heavenly home on September 26, 2024, in West Monroe, Louisiana.
Ron was a long-time member of Fair Park Baptist Church where he faithfully served as a Deacon, Sunday School teacher, usher/greeter, member of the Security Team and Pastor Search committee, as well as numerous other committees. Ron's greatest joy was being the official greeter every Sunday at the main entrance of the church.
His hugs and smile blessed all who walked through the doors of Fair Park.
Ron was a 1966 graduate of Oak Grove High School and a proud 1970 Louisiana Tech graduate with a degree in Business Management. Ron retired from CNH Capital after serving many years as an auditor in the Insurance Industry.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Percy and Minnie Lea Nix; second mother, Rosa May (Grandma Jim) Nix; his in-laws, Willie and Evelena Green; and his beloved wife, Kay Green Nix.
Ron is survived by his son, T.J. Nix; his very special grandson, Lincoln Nix; his brother, Ken Nix and his wife, Suzanne; and sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Lynn & Charles Heard. He is also survived by his nephews, Brad Nix (Betsy) and Kyle Nix (Shannon), nieces, Meredith Futch (J.J.) and Jessica Walling (Ryan), and many great nephews & nieces as well as a host of family and friends.
Honorary Pallbearers will be the Deacons and the Security Team of Fair Park.
The family would like to thank Ron's many friends at Fair Park Baptist Church and his Oak Grove, Louisiana classmates. Special thanks to his coffee and breakfast buddy, Jane Peterson, her family, and his friend, Bobby Avery.
Memorials may be given to Fair Park Baptist Church.
