Rollie Emerson, Jr., 89, passed away peacefully on June 21, 2010, with his loving family by his side at the Northeast Louisiana War Veterans Home. He was born on March 10, 1921 and had lived in Jackson – George County all his life. He was a United States Navy veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his faithful and loving wife of 49 years, Catherine Virginia Emerson; three daughters, Catherine Glover of Ocean Springs, MS, Melody Tucker and husband Hugh of Monroe, LA, Kelly Johnson and husband Russell of Wade, MS; two sons, Gary Emerson of Hurley, MS, and Roger Emerson of Mobile, AL; grandchildren, James Glover, Kim Glover, Colton Tucker, Garret Emerson, Ashley Emerson, Kristin Parden, Dustin Johnson, Kayla Johnson; and three great grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Wednesday, June 23, 2010, at Holder Wells Funeral Home, Moss Point, MS and Thursday one hour prior to service at the church.. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM Thursday, June 24, 2010, at Hurley United Methodist Church, Hurley, MS. Interment will be at Davis Family Cemetery in Harleston.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at the Louisiana War Veterans Home for their extra special care given in the last few months.
