Roger Dale Balsamo

Funeral services celebrating the life of Roger Dale Balsamo, 74, of West Monroe, Louisiana, will be held at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, August 14, 2024, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe with Rev. Norman Bryant officiating. The interment will follow immediately after at the Northeast Louisiana Veterans Cemetery, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe. The visitation will be held from 9:30 A.M. until the time of service at the funeral home.

Mr. Balsamo was born on November 11, 1949, in Monroe, Louisiana and passed away on August 11, 2024, in West Monroe, Louisiana.

Roger was a dedicated father, grandfather, brother, and son. He was a hard worker who instilled his strong core values in his family before he retired he spent many years working as an Iron worker. He was known as “King of the Grill” to his buddies. He loved to go fishing, gardening, traveling, and spending time with his loved ones. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Matthew and Myrtis Balsamo; and his brothers, Tommy Balsamo, Leo Balsamo, Edgar Balsamo, Willis Balsamo, Allen Balsamo, Frank Balsamo, James Balsamo, Vincent Balsamo, and Jean Richey Balsamo.

Those left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Michelle Askin, Tara Balsamo (Carson Millican), and Gail Smith; siblings, Anne Conville, Gloria Sim (Randy), John Balsamo (Becky), Sally Patrick, and Steve Balsamo (Candy); grandchildren, Dustin Askin, Tyler Balsamo, Alyssa Lewter, and Jaylyn Kenny; great grandchildren, Greyson Jones, Taylor Jones, and Jett Tyler Balsamo; as well as many other friends, family, and loved ones.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to his buddies at JMaxx, The Morris Family, and his best friend, Daniel Woods. Thank you for always being there for my daddy.
