Visitation for Mr. Rodney Franklin Buck will be held Thursday, April 3, 2008, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.
Mr. Buck was born October 11, 1948 in Atlanta, GA and passed away in Memphis, TN on March 30, 2008 at age 59. Rodney spent most of his life in Monroe, LA. He was awarded the Purple Heart, the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal with 2 Bronze Service Stars, and the Combat Infantryman Badge for meritorious service in the Vietnam War. For the past two years, Rodney served as a drug and alcohol abuse counselor for Veterans in Memphis. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Josephine Buck.
Mr. Buck is survived by four children: Suzie(Suzy), Jessie, Joey, and Samantha, all of Monroe; Lorry Buck of Monroe; brother and sister-in-law, Steve and Katrice Buck of Georgia; his nephew and wife, Michael and Kristen Buck of Loganville, GA; lifelong friend, Jack Buchart of Memphis, TN; and countless friends and loved ones.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to Monroe Drug and Alcohol Abuse Clinic or Alpha Omega Veteran Services, Inc., 1183 Madison Ave., Memphis, TN 38104.
