Funeral services for Rodger A. Simpkins, 77, of West Monroe will be 2:00 P.M. Monday March 14, 2016 in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home in West Monroe, LA, with Rev. Ryne Hester officiating. Interment will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery in West Monroe, LA.Mr. Simpkins was born on December 4, 1938 and passed away on March 12, 2016 in West Monroe, LA. Mr. Simpkins was retired from the Louisiana Department of Transportation. He was a veteran of the United States Navy. Mr. Simpkins was an avid hunter and enjoyed playing dominos.Survivors include his wife, Jean Simpkins; daughters, Vicky Avant and husband Bill, Sharon Hester and husband Tony; grandchildren, Jamie, Ryne, Whitney, and Kelly; brother, Robert Simpkins; sister, Dee Swope and husband Bruce.Visitation will be from 12:30 until service time Monday March 14, 2016 at Mulhearn Funeral Home in West Monroe, LA.Memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.The family would like to thank Louisiana Hospice, Nurses Nita, Donna, and caregiver Hazel, for the care they provided for Mr. Simpkins.Online Registry/Condolences: www.mulhearnfuneralhome.com
