Funeral Services Celebrating the Life of Rochelle Hudson Conti, 79, of Monroe, LA, will be held at 3:00 P.M., Monday, February 5, 2018, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home Monroe, LA, with Pastor Shane Warren officiating. Interment will follow in the Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery in Monroe, LA.
Rochelle Hudson (Grannimom) Conti was born on July 26, 1938 and died from a lengthy illness on February 2, 2018. Rochelle had a career with Century Telephone as a Receptionist. After retiring, she enjoyed her strong interest in music, interior decorating, plants and studying the Bible with her favorite pastors: local pastor, Shane Warren, Joyce Meyer, Dr. David Jeremiah and Dr. Charles Stanley. Rochelle is preceded in death by her husband, Nicholas Conti, III., brother, Leon Hudson; parents, Irene and Hinkston Hudson; and former husband, Gary L. Shelton.
Rochelle was a beloved friend, sister, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was born to Irene and Hinkston Hudson in Bastrop, LA. She graduated from Bastrop High School and attended Northeast Louisiana University, until she met Nicholas S. Conti, III. and started her married life. They had 3 children: Chris M. Conti of Eros, LA; J. Todd Conti and wife, Erin of Baton Rouge, LA and Julie Conti DiGiovanni of Monroe, LA. Rochelle was later widowed and then married Gary Shelton and they had a son, G. Brent Shelton of Lafayette, LA. Grannimom had four grandchildren and one great grandchild, Stephani DiGiovanni, Bailee Glass, Christi Conti and Nicholas Conti II. The one and only great grandchild is 4 months old, Rachel Blazier; two brothers, Monty Hudson of West Monroe, LA and Hinkston Hudson and wife, Diane of Beekman, LA.
Pallbearers will be Gene Wayne Perkins, Larry Jones, Jack Jones, Tim Jones, Chris Jones, Daniel Blazier, Joseph D. Pitarro and John P. Hanson.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 P.M. until service time on Monday, February 5, 2018.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
She will be missed forever down here, but was happily greeted by many in Heaven…
