Robert T. Sills

Funeral services for Robert T. Sills of West Monroe, LA will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday, February 13, 2018 in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe, with Bro. Ryan Cheeks and Bro. Albert Lawson officiating. Interment will follow in Kilpatrick Serenity Gardens, West Monroe, LA.

Robert was born March 4, 1933 in Hamburg, AR and passed away peacefully at his home in West Monroe on February 10, 2018 at the age of 84. He is survived by his wife of 65 years Melbaline (Sanderson) Sills; three children Mike Sills (Sheerah), Jeff Sills (Linda) and Susan Thigpen (James) and one grandson Aaron Sills; two brothers P.F Sills, Jr. (Peggy), Irving Sills (Pat) and one sister Clara Nolan.

Robert was a faithful member of the West Monroe congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses for over 44 years. He dearly loved the fellowship he shared with his spiritual brothers and sisters there.

Robert was owner of Robert Sills Upholstery along with his wife. He was a professional furniture upholsterer for over 60 years. His passion was antiques and older furniture because he said it was made to last, not like some of the furniture we see today. He loved traveling to the Smokey Mountains in Tennessee and making the flea markets and auctions where he found a lot of older (goodies) as he called them.

His hobbies (in his younger years) was playing baseball and (in his older years) collecting things from certain time periods.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents P.F Sr. and Eunice Sills; brothers in law Sam Nolan and James L. Sanderson; sister in law Shirley L. Edwards.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM Monday, February 12, 2018 at Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe, LA.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
