Robert Ray Wells

Funeral services for Robert Wells, 74, of Monroe, LA, will be held at 11:00am, Friday, March 25, 2022, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Monroe, LA, with Rev. Warren Eckhardt officiating under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.

Robert passed to his heavenly home Saturday, March 19, 2022, under a beautiful sunset while at St. Francis Medical Center downtown. While recently unable to attend services, he was a longtime member of North Monroe Baptist Church. During his years of employment, Robert was a contract salesman for Sears Roebuck.

Robert’s many hobbies included hunting, fishing, coaching, and watching any sport, and cheering for the teams of the SEC. He had an easy-going nature, was a loyal friend, rooted for the “underdog,” and always had a ready smile! Robert was fiercely proud of and passionate about his family. Daddy…Daddy Bear…Papa…Uncle…Robert, you will be greatly missed.

His wife of 48 years, P.K. Wells, and his parents, Elsie and Harold Wells of Oakdale, LA, preceded Robert in death.

Survivors include a daughter, Angela Rugg (Jeff); a son, Ryan Wells (Betsy); six grandchildren, Dr. Hannah Rugg (Luis Ampuero), Kyle, and Cameron Rugg; Sarah, Katelyn, and Leah Wells; sister-in-law, Judith Cross; aunt, Mollie Willis; as well as nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation will be at 10:00-11:00am prior to the service on Friday at Mulhearn Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or to the North Monroe Baptist Church building fund.
