Robert Gene Turner

Funeral services for Robert Gene Turner, 86, of Sterlington, will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, March 22, 2014 at Mulhearn Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel with Rev. Milton Pray officiating. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.
Mr. Turner died Sunday, March 16, 2014, at his residence.  He retired as Senior Vice-President from B.C. Williams Companies.  Mr. Turner was a member of The American Bakers Association, American Institute of Baking, and the American Society of Baking.  He also served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII.
Mr. Turner was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and June Reed Turner; and his sister, Dorothy Simard.
Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Molly Turner; sons, Steve Turner, Michael Turner and wife Sally, Scott Turner and wife Sandy; brother, Lee Turner and wife Katherine; grandchildren, Laura Maclin and husband Stan, Chris Turner and wife Stephanie, Justin Turner, Cameron Turner, Taylor Turner, Morgan Bryant and husband Mike; great grandchildren, Cade,  Melain, and Landry Maclin; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Tom Cathey, Mack Bareswell, David Stokes, John Conville, Max Coplen and Bill Kostelka. Honorary Pallbearers will be Senator Bob Kostelka, Bowman Williams and Campbell Williams.
Visitation will be 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM Friday, March 21, 2014 at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to The Wounded Warrior Fund, Pilots for Patients or any organization of choice, in lieu of flowers.
