“I love my family.” Those were some of the last words of Robert “Bob” Ford, who passed away on March 10, 2022. He was 80 years old. Truly, Bob’s most proud accomplishment in life was the family he created with his loving wife, Ann Rinehart Ford. They were married for 48 years.
He is survived by his son, Ryan Ford (Jenny) of Pine Bluff, Arkansas; daughter, Susan Ford LaNasa (Tony) of New Orleans, Louisiana; grandchildren, Cody Ford, Kyle Ford, Luke LaNasa and Anna LaNasa; favorite niece, Renee Ford Zahorchak; nephew, James Allen Ford; sister-in-law, Virgie Ford Daniels; special cousins, Ted and Rita Grant; and his beloved golden retriever, Sky.
Bob is preceded in death by his parents, James and Syble Ford; and his brother, James Ford, Jr.
Bob was a graduate of Ouachita High School and Northeast Louisiana University. He worked both as a sales representative for various companies and as a manager of family businesses, including Ford Vending, Little Chief Restaurant and Pet Boutique. Bob loved his church, First United Methodist Church, where he volunteered in ministries assisting seniors in transportation to church and giving communion to shut-ins. He also enjoyed helping to put on the Selmen Field World War II Veterans’ Reunion. Bob served as presidents of both the Optimist Club of Greater Monroe and the River Oaks School Booster Club.
There will be a reception celebrating Bob’s life at First United Methodist Church, 3900 Loop Road, Monroe, LA, on Sunday, March 13, 2022, at 3:00 P.M.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to First United Methodist Church, Monroe.
