Funeral services for Mr. Robert "Bob" Crocker, Jr., 81, of Monroe, LA, will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, April 5, 2025, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home Monroe with Dr. Alan Miller officiating. Interment will follow at Kilpatrick Serenity Gardens in West Monroe, LA.
Robert “Bob” Harrison Crocker, Jr. departed peacefully from this world on April 2, 2025, surrounded by the love and comfort of his family.
Born on October 23, 1943 in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, Bob was the eldest child of Robert Harrison Crocker, Sr. and Margie Poteet Crocker. Bob was a graduate of Bossier High School (‘62), and went on to pursue a bachelors degree from Louisiana Tech, where he met the love of his life, Gloria Flurry Crocker. Bob was a loving and devoted husband to Gloria for over 60 years, and the father of three beautiful daughters, Kim, Kelly, and Kristy.
He was the proudest “Poppa” to his six grandchildren, Caroline, Drew, Abbey, Allie, Emily, and Randi Lynn. He recently became a great-grandfather to twin great-granddaughters, Elizabeth and Alexis, which brought him so much joy.
Bob spent his life in service to those around him. He served as a member of the United States Air Force and Air Force Reserves. He was a hardworking and devoted member of the Monroe Police Department for over 33 years, retiring at the rank of Major. Not long after his retirement, he decided to return to public service as a U.S. Marshal.
Bob was a proud alum of both Louisiana Tech University (‘70) and Northeast Louisiana University (‘78). He earned both his bachelors and masters degrees while working full-time and helping raise three children.
He loved spending time with his family, cheering on his grandchildren at sporting events and awards days, visiting the North Carolina coast, and working in his yard. Bob approached life with tenacity and an energetic spirit, even during the difficult times. He never met a stranger, and leaves behind so many wonderful memories with those who loved him.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Margie Crocker; in-laws W.F. and Minnie Lou Flurry, sister Ann Crocker Patrick; brother-in-law Richard Flurry; and son-in-law Randy Beckham, Jr.
Bob is survived by his wife Gloria Flurry Crocker, daughters Kimberly Thomas (Mitch), Kelly Beckham, and Kristy Barton (Chris); grandchildren Caroline Thomas (Josh), Abbey Barton, Drew Thomas (Meagan), Allie Barton Hill (Bailey), Emily Beckham, and Randi Lynn Beckham; great-granddaughters Elizabeth and Alexis Thomas; sister Peggy Kundrick (Don) and brother David Crocker (Lucille), sisters-in-law Diane Odom (Tommy) and Martha Flurry, as well as several loving nieces and nephews, and many cherished friends and colleagues.
Pallbearers include Chris Barton, Bailey Hill, Mitch Thomas, Drew Thomas, William Wright, Stan Hayden, and Billy Jordan. Honorary pallbearers are his fellow Marshals for the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Louisiana, Monroe Division.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Friday, April 4, 2025, at Mulhearn Funeral Home Monroe.
