Funeral services for Mr. Robert Bernard Watson, 65, of Monroe, will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, March 1, 2008 at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church with Rev. Sebastian Kallarackal officiating. Interment will be at St. Paschal’s Catholic Church Cemetery.
Mr. Watson passed away Wednesday, February 27, 2008. He was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church. He was the President of Pastoral Council of the Jaycees.Our beloved husband and father was a great man of honor, integrity and wisdom. He was loved by so many because of his character, loyalty, and most of all his kindness and love. He honored our country as a Marine in Vietnam and was awarded the Purple Heart for his bravery. He has always remained close to his Marine brothers. He married “His Bride’, Sherry Falls and cherished her for forty-two years and had such pure unconditional love for her, his children, and grandchildren.
He was a sports enthusiast since his youth. He played H.S. football, basketball, baseball, and track, and excelled at all. In his children’s younger years, he coached basketball and played fast-pitch softball.
He was so blessed to have so many loyal friends and family and anyone that ever met him, will never forget him.
Survivors include his wife, Sherry Watson; daughters, Kelly Christine Watson Steen and husband Tommy and Jennifer Rose Watson; sisters, Saundra English and husband Bob, and Kathy Laird and husband Kit; brother, Ricky Watson; grandsons, Max Steen, Ty Steen, and Cody Steen; granddaughters, Samantha Steen and Ashley Steen; great granddaughter, Macy Steen; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Jim and Beth Falls, Joe and Sally Quezada, Susan and Jim Easterling, Bill and Donna Falls, Jeanne Falls, Mike and Dora Falls, and Charles Anthony Falls.
Pallbearers will be Paul Solice, Phillip Semon, Roger Smith, Mike Cleary, George Fruge, and Randall Ingram.
Visitation will be Friday, February 29, 2008 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM with the wake starting at 6:00 PM at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.
Our family would like to thank all who prayed for us and loved him as we did. He will be enormously missed, but we find comfort in knowing the Lord is so merciful, and he is now at peace. We love you Robert, Daddy, and Papaw.
