They were married on September 14, 1942. Robert worked for the International Paper Company in Bastrop, Louisiana and Robert and Louise resided in Swartz, Louisiana until 1954 when they moved to Rome, Georgia. Robert worked for Georgia Kraft Company until his retirement in 1985. They were members of the Lakeview Baptist Church in Rome, Georgia, where Robert served as a Deacon and Louise sang in the choir. In 2011, the Bains moved to an assisted living facility in the northern Atlanta suburbs. In 72 years of marriage, they provided countless blessings to family, neighbors, friends, and chance acquaintances. Robert was a World War II veteran of the United States Army Air Corps. He built every house that he and Louise called home. He was a fisherman, a hunter, and a gardener. Louise, a dedicated homemaker knew how to prepare the fish, the game, and vegetables. She raised a family, grandchildren, and great grandchildren with her love and service. She was Roberts perfectly matched helpmate and the special sauce that flavored the family. The Bains lived life to the fullest. They laughed, they prayed, they cried, and they sang.
