A Celebration of life for Rita Warner Tucker, 72, of West Monroe, LA will be held at 11:00AM Tuesday, October 15, 2024 at First Methodist Church, West Monroe with Rev. Chris Winterman officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00AM until service time on Tuesday.
Rita was born on October 19, 1951 and passed away on October 10, 2024. She was a graduate from Ouachita High School. After graduation, she attended Northwestern State College on a music scholarship. She possessed a beautiful soprano voice. Her talent led her to sing in a Christian group for several years. Attending church was in her DNA, and she sang in church choirs for many years. Her career started in banking, working for banks in Shreveport and Monroe. After her banking career, she became a paralegal for a number of different attorneys in the Monroe community. When retirement came, Rita spent many hours fostering kittens to an age where they could be adopted. Endless hours were spent working with Save our Shelter (S.O.S) to raise money to support humane causes. This project is still ongoing.
Rita is survived by her loving husband, Bobby “Bob” Tucker; brother, Dr. Dennis Warner (Jill); sisters, Diane Szarek and Martha Patterson Rambin (John); and many nieces and nephews.
The family requests in honor of Rita, all donations or memorials be made to Meowt Feline Rescue, 107 Weldwood Circle, West Monroe, LA 71291. Also, we would like to thank the West Monroe Fire Department for their rapid response and kindness as well as the 911 staff.
