Services for Rickey Dale Burns, 52 of Vidalia, LA will be at 1:00 p.m. Monday, April 9, 2018 at Eureka Baptist Church near Gilbert, with Bro. Bobby Arnold, and Bro. James McMurray officiating. Interment will follow in Coax Cemetery near Baskin, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home in Winnsboro.
Rickey was born December 11, 1965 to Sherman Dixon Burns and Patsy Burns Hill. He passed away on April 6, 2018 at his residence. He drove a truck for about 20 years, until his heath got bad and he retired. He served several years as governor of the Natchez Moose Lodge. He loved to shoot pool, watch LSU Tigers football, watch Nascar racing, and loved his family, especially his great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Sherman Dixon Burns, step-father Don Hill, and grandparents James and Hattie Burns.
Survivors include: mother, Patsy Hill of Vidalia, LA., son, Braxton King of Clayton, LA., brothers, Dwayne and Vertis Jean Burns of Tuscaloosa, AL., Keith and Tammy Burns of Vidalia, LA., sisters, Donetta and Jimmy Berry of Gilbert, LA., Renee and Casey Smith of Florence, AL., Donna Knight of Vidalia, LA., and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers are: J. T. Thurman, Roger Mahoney, Jr., Aaron Paul Arnold, Joe Crabtree, Blaine Briggs, Nick Bonomo, David Joiner, and Pedro Velazquez.
Honorary Pallbearers are: Charles Burns, Jamie Jacobs, and the men of the Natchez Moose Lodge.
Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. till 7:00 p.m. Sunday, April 8th at Eureka Baptist Church—Gilbert, LA.
