Richard Joseph (John) LaMantia

Funeral service for Richard Joseph (John) LaMantia, 87, of Monroe, LA, will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, February 27, 2025, at St. Marks Methodist Church with Rev. Nat Barnett officiating. Private Family Interment will held at the Northeast Louisiana Veterans Cemetery in Rayville, LA, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home Sterlington Rd. Monroe. Visitation will be from 12:30 P.M. until service time at St. Marks Methodist Church. 

Mr. LaMantia died February 20, at Azalea Estates after a lengthy illness. Mr. LaMantia was born in St. Paul, Minnesota. He was a member of St. Marks Methodist Church in Monroe, LA. He retired from General Motors after 30 years of service. Richard was a United States Naval Veteran.

He was preceded in death by his parents and stepson Kirk McIntyre.

Survivors: his wife of 34 years, Mrs. Betty Hightower LaMantia; grandchildren, Austin McIntyre and his wife, Justine and Lauren McIntyre; seven great grandchildren; and sisters-in-law, Carol Pickering and Kay Felter.
