Memorial services for Mr. Richard “Dickey” Russell Robinson, 59, of Monroe, will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, June 29, 2008, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe, with Rev. Weldon Bares and Rev. Joe Solomon officiating.
Mr. Robinson was born on December 23, 1948 in Camden, AR to Russell R. and Helen Harvey Robinson and passed away Thursday, June 26, 2008, at St. Francis Medical Center. He moved from Camden to Monroe in 1954 where he was educated in Monroe School System, graduated from Neville High School in 1966, and received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Journalism and TV from Northeast University in 1970. Mr. Robinson was employed by KNOE-TV for forty-one years, primarily in production.
Mr. Robinson was predeceased by his parents, step-parents, Emma Lee Robinson of Camden, AR and Jesse O. Portman of Monroe; sister, Mary A. Robinson of Camden, AR; paternal grandparents, Eddie P. and Jewel Starnes Robinson of Camden, AR; maternal grandparents, Con C. and Olive Henry Harvey of Bluff City, AR.
Survivors include his daughter, Larke M. Robinson of Farmerville, LA; son, Richard Ryan Robinson and wife Amanda of Keller, TX; brothers, Steven R. Robinson and wife Linda of Vail, AZ, and Johnny O. Portman and wife Janet of Monroe; sisters, Martha H. Hicks and husband Charles of Conway, AR, Mickie Roberts and husband Jimmy of Ringgold, LA, and Anne McLarty of Baton Rouge, LA; special friend, Ruby Harris; plus a host of friends and co-workers from KNOE-TV.
Visitation will be Sunday from 12:00 Noon until service time at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.
