Once diagnosed with lung cancer nearly four years ago, Rhonda never gave up. She never complained, maintaining a brave and positive outlook and an even more hopeful future-even through countless chemotherapy treatments, radiation sessions, x-rays, scans, hospitalizations and pain. She continued on her “march”, never wavering in her faith and being as involved in the lives of her loved ones as much as possible.
Rhonda entered into Glory with her Heavenly Father on September 17, 2018.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, September 20, 2018, at Paron Baptist Church in Sterlington, Louisiana. Her brother, JR Wells will be officiating. Visitation will be 5:00pm-8:00pm on Wednesday, September 19, 2018, at Paron Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Ouachita City Road Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Mulhearn Funeral Home.
Rhonda, known to her grandchildren and family as “Nonna” was born on March 22, 1958, and grew up in Sterlington, Louisiana, where she attended Linville High School. After graduation, Rhonda would soon begin her career in the banking industry where she would eventually retire from Cross Keys Bank in 2016 after thirty-five years of employment.
Rhonda’s joy in life were her grandchildren. They were her inspiration and strength. They were the fight in her and her reason to live another day. Her love and memories will forever live on through them.
Rhonda was an exclusive member of the “Beach Bunny” club which is a group of her best friends that vacation at the beach every year, some of her very best times were spent with these special ladies. They always made every trip an adventure with plenty of laughs and memories to last a life time.
Rhonda meant so much to so many and had a circle of loved ones at her side at all times. But there was one that was more than just a friend…she was a sister and probably one of the most important people in her life, Trinky. Friends and family for life, they knew each other like no other. They spoke their own language and shared a special bond with one another. In Rhonda’s eyes, Trinky could do no wrong and Trinky was the only one who could do anything right. Trinky was Rhonda’s “go to” person, the one she trusted, the one she wanted by her side always. There could be no truer friendship than Rhonda and Trinky’s.
Rhonda is preceded in death by her parents, Brooks Wells and Sandra Pearson; her husband of thirty-eight years, Danny George; and her niece, Niki Wells.
Survivors include her daughter, Katy Balsamo and husband, Darren; Five grandchildren, Shelby, Carter, Paxton, Drew and Vivian Balsamo; Brother, JR Wells and wife, Angela; Niece, Megan Wells; Special family members, Rene and Jeff Hollis, Ryley Greene, Gabe Hollis and Denton Pearson.
In honor of her late husband, Danny, serving as pallbearers will be members of the George Family, including Larry Cardin, Mark Morgan, Scott Spencer, Rex Spencer, Dale Shipman, Kendall Wilson, Eric Smith and Grant Ely.
Honorary pallbearers include the members of the “Beach Bunny” club, Trinky Jones, Jan Howse, Linda Johnson, Becky Baker, Kaye Snell and Karen Mike.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to each and every person that shared their time, prayers, donations, meals, and countless miles traveling to and from numerous doctor appointments and trips to Little Rock, Arkansas over the last four years. You were each the feet and hands of our Savior shown here on this earth and the love expressed will forever be appreciated.
In lieu of flowers, the family would request donations be made in her honor to Paron Baptist Church.
