A Celebration of Life for Mrs. Rhonda Davis Goodwin, 57, of Chatham, LA, will be 1:00 PM Tuesday, January 5, 2021, at Fair Park Baptist Church with Rev. Allen Goodwin and Rev. Chris Bryant officiating.
Rhonda was born on October 20, 1963 and went to her Heavenly home on January 1, 2021. To know Rhonda was to love her. She had a way of drawing people in and making them feel like family. Rhonda brought fun into every room she entered, and her laugh was contagious. She somehow made the ordinary feel special. Rhonda always looked for the good in every situation, and it made those around her want to do the same.
Rhonda was a lover of all things that involved crafting and “junking,” the outdoors, camping, and the beach. She loved life and was always ready for her next adventure.
Above all else, Rhonda’s greatest joy in life was her family. A devoted daughter, wife, and mother, she cherished nothing more than spending time with those whom she deeply loved. She was known as “Rhon” by her Mom and Dad, “Baby” by her husband, and “Mama” by her children, but perhaps her favorite name was the one her grandchildren called her- “Happy.” Rhonda truly was a giver of joy and happiness.
Rhonda’s selflessness was a shining example to us of how to love our family well and of how to make the most of the time we are given. We will not only cherish her memory, but we will also do our best to honor her legacy by loving one another as she loved us. We are thankful for the hope we have in Jesus Christ that we will be reunited with her in Heaven.
Survivors include her loving husband, John Goodwin; her daughter, Alecia Bryant (Chris); her sons, Allen Goodwin (Lark) and Dakota Goodwin; her precious grandchildren, Parker and Avery Bryant and Annie Goodwin; her parents, Marvin and Susan Davis; and siblings, Johnny Davis (Gayla) and Kathy Harmon (George); along with numerous family members, friends, and loved ones.
Memorials may be made to the Fair Park Baptist Church Provision Fund.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to our churches for ministering to us during such a difficult time. We also want to extend our deepest gratitude to all of our family and friends who fought alongside us in prayer. Our sweet Rhonda is healed and whole.
