A Celebration of the life of Rev. Mildred H. Lenard, 76, of West Monroe, La. will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, July 26, 2010 at the Lapine Assembly of God Church in West Monroe with Rev. Leonard Sapp, Rev. Eugene Brown and Rev. Douglas Fulenwider officiating. Interment will be in Lapine Assembly Cemetery, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home in West Monroe, La.
Sister Lenard went home to be with her Lord suddenly on July 22, 2010 at the Glenwood Regional Medical Center.
Sister Lenard pioneered Lapine Assembly of God Church in 1968 and was still the pastor at her death. She was not afraid to use her faith in God preaching his word, touching and healing many souls during her ministry. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and her family especially loved her cooking.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Mr. Lavelle Lenard, brother, Travis “Cowboy” Lenard, and Sister, Adalee “Sis” Lenard.
Survivors: Daughters, Jean Wilson and husband, Sammy and Lynn Leehy; Son, Glenn Lenard and wife, Mary; Brothers, William “Bud” Hamilton and wife, Paula and Gary Hamilton and wife, Betty; 8 Grandchildren and 14 Great Grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews, her church family and the many families she has touched over the years.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
Visitation will be from 9:00 A.M. Sunday until service time on Monday at Lapine Assembly of God Church 550 Lapine Rd. West Monroe, LA
Sister Lenard loved flowers and the family would request any memorials to Lapine Assembly of God Church Building Fund
