Memorial Services for Mr. Renford Carroll Rodgers, 73, of Monroe, will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday, December 24, 2009, at Lea Joyner Memorial United Methodist Church with Rev. Weldon Bares officiating. Services are under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.
Mr. Rodgers passed away Tuesday, December 22, 2009. He served as Justice of the Peace of Ward 1, a Boy Scout Scoutmaster, 32nd Degree Mason, president of Northeast Louisiana Justices of the Peace and Constable Association and the Louisiana Justices of the Peace and Constables Association. Mr. Rodgers was a member of Lea Joyner Memorial United Methodist Church, where he served on the Administrative Board. He was a veteran in the United States Army who served during the Korean Conflict.
Survivors include his wife, Frankie May Rodgers; sons, Jimmy Carroll Rodgers and wife, Marylyn, Dennis Wayne Rodgers and wife Terri, and William Michael Rodgers and wife Monica; brothers, Jerry Rodgers and wife Luci, and Charles Rodgers and wife Barbara; sisters, Grace Calhoun and husband Hugh, Bettie Ruth Bethea and husband Eddie, and Dee Nickels and husband Mike; four grandchildren, Brandon C. Rodgers, Whitney N. Rodgers, Rachel E. Rodgers, and Rebecca A. Rodgers; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be at the church Thursday from 12:00 PM until service time.
