Reginald Wayne Redding

Memorial Services Celebrating the life of Reginald Wayne Redding, 62, of West Monroe, LA will be held at 2:00PM Wednesday, December 29, 2021, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe with Rev. James McCormick officiating. Visitation will be held from 1:00PM until service time on Wednesday.

Reggie was born on January 10, 1959, in Monroe, LA and passed away on December 25, 2021, in West Monroe, LA. Reggie lived a full life of great adventure, and was a lover of all things music, football, and baseball. His wit was quick, and his sense of humor was second to none. When meeting Reggie for the first time, you wouldn’t stay a stranger for long. His larger than life personality drew you in and made you a instant friend, followed by a healthy dose of laughter. You knew when Reggie walked in a room; he lit the entire place up. In true Reggie fashion, he packed up and moved to Key West, Florida where he lived for almost 10 years. He spent his time selling hammocks and living his life to the fullest in the warm Florida weather. We are sad for him to go, but we find comfort in knowing he was reunited with his parents and brother. We are certain his first words in heaven were “What time does the band start?”


Reggie was preceded in death by his parents, RC and Helen Redding and a brother, Mike Garrison.

He is survived by his brother, Robin Redding and PeeWee, Children, Rachel Redding Harrell and husband Darby, and Ryne Redding; 3 grandchildren, Archer Blue, Rhett, and Tallulah Harrell; Faithful Companion, June Bug, whom Reggie loved and adored; Aunts, Violet and Betty and Uncle Kenneth, nieces and nephews, and a host of cousins and friends.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Compassus Hospice for the loving care, help, and guidance during this difficult time.
