Funeral Services Celebrating the Life of Mrs. Regina Gale Anderson Simmons, 74, of West Monroe, LA, will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, February 12, 2022, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home in West Monroe, LA, with Brother Karl Huff officiating. Interment will follow in the Hasley Cemetery in West Monroe, LA.
Regina was born on September 30, 1947, in Monroe, LA and passed away from this earth on February 7, 2022. She was a Christian who loved her family and doing for others. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren. Regina was multi-talented with many hobbies. She loved making Jellies, Preserves and Syrup from wild fruits and berries. She was a gourmet cook, avid gardener and loved traveling with George.
Regina is preceded in death by her parents, Curtis James Anderson and Velma Ray Skipper Anderson Young; stepfather, Connie M. Young; and her sister, Janice Young Kavanaugh.
Survivors include her husband, George S. Simmons; son, G. Brian Simmons and his children, Elise Simmons and Drew Simmons; son, Charles “Charlie” Simmons and wife, Lisa and their children, McKenzie Simmons, Abby Simmons Huff, and Cooper Simmons; sister, Connie Kay Clark; aunt, Rennie DeCell; sister-in-law, Judy Kilcrease; nieces, Tracy Stancil, Penny Perry and Erica Davidson; nephews, Richie Seaton, and Jeremy Seaton; special friends, Gaye Heckford, Ann Redmond, Melba Saterfiel, Sharon Schooley, Shirley Marble, Angelica Higgs, Oniesty Higgs, Angelique Higgs, Barbara Dodson, and Toshunda D. D. Hall; ex-daughter-in-law and mother of Elise and Drew, Amy Simmons; along with numerous cousins and other friends.
Pallbearers will be Benji Simmons, Richie Seaton, Jeremy Seaton, Tripp Seaton, Gage Huff, and Michael Perry.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M., Friday, February 11, 2022, at Mulhearn Funeral Home in West Monroe, LA.
The family would like to give a special thank you to the doctors, nurses, and staff at St. Francis Hospital and LA Hospice.
“The Luckiest day of my life was when I accidentally met “Gina Gale” my 16-year-old sweetheart in August 1964. The Happiest day of my life was our wedding day on September 9, 1966. Regina continuously got sweeter every year. We had 55 wonderful years of marriage.
