Mulhearn Funeral Home
West Monroe, LA
Funeral Services for Mrs. Reba Bouton Huntsman, 88, of West Monroe will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, June 23, 2012 in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home in West Monroe, with Rev. Craig Ferguson officiating. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Mausoleum.
Mrs. Huntsman was born January 24, 1924 and passed away on June 20, 2012. Reba was born and spent her childhood years in Bristol, VA. In 1946 she met Paul, who was working as a machinist at the nearby Oak Ridge, TN facility. Reba and Paul were married in 1947 and shortly thereafter moved to Little Rock, AR, where Paul had accepted a job with Reynolds Metal. In 1954, they moved to Monroe, where Paul eventually became part owner of Southern Tool. In 1965, after selling out their interest in Southern Tool, they moved to Crossett, AR and opened Mechanism’s, a full service machine shop for the local wood products industry. They retained their home in West Monroe since Reba’s mother was at a local nursing home. Thus began a routine of driving to WM on Thursdays and returning to Crossett on Sunday afternoon. This routine would continue for the next 45 years. Paul ran the shop and Reba did the accounting work and managed the office. She retired from Mechanism’s in 1993 and Paul passed away in 2005 but at 88 years old she continued to travel back and forth to Crossett each week to check on the business which was being operated by grandson Keith Huntsman.
Mrs. Huntsman is preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Paul G. Huntsman; son, Rodney Keith Huntsman, Sr; mother, Anna Peeks Cross; and father, James R. Bouton.
Survivors include her daughter, Karen Huntsman Harrison and husband, Allen; grandchildren, Shay Harrison Anderson and husband, Steve of Cumming, GA, Jeff Harrison and wife, Kim of Nashville, TN, and Keith Huntsman and wife, Kim; great grandchildren Ty and Alli Anderson; Parks Harrison, and Morgan and Megan Huntsman; and her dog, Daisy.
Pallbearers will be the Employees of Mechanisms: Royce Blissett, Jason Dykes, Greg Oden, Laron Berryman, Scott Hipp, Bill Griffin, Justin Stewart, and Rick Frisby. Honorary Pallbearers will be Colby Pennington, Jimmy Thrasher, and Daniel Bailey.
