Raymond Sutton, of Sterlington, LA, born December 26, 1925, passed away June 5, 2022, at the age of 96.
Raymond was a WWII veteran serving in the Battle of the Bulge and also in England, France, Germany, and Belgium. Raymond later retired from the Monroe City Fire Department, as a Captain.
Raymond was preceded in death by his loving wife Doris Cummings Sutton and his parents, Charlie and Ora Sutton.
Left to cherish his memory are his four sons, Al Sutton, who was also Raymond’s best friend and caretaker, Stanley Sutton, Charles Sutton and wife, Laura, and Steve Sutton and wife, Jana; his eight grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and one great-great grandson. Raymond was a great father and family man. He was a man of honor and integrity. He will be missed dearly.
Graveside funeral service will be held 10:00AM Thursday, June 9, 2022, at Walnut Grove Cemetery with Pastor Ben Hackler officiating, where Raymond will be laid to rest next to Doris, the love of his life. Pallbearers will be sons, Al, Stanley, and Steve; and grandsons, Jordan, Cross, and River. Service will be under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.
