Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, May 11, 2022, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home in West Monroe, LA, honoring the life of Ray Pommier, 79, who died Sunday, May 8, 2022. He will be laid to rest at Roselawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery with his nephew Kelvin Humphries officiating the services.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M., Tuesday, May 10, 2022, at Mulhearn Funeral Home in West Monroe.
Ray was born in Crowley, LA, and grew up in Crowley and Baytown, TX. He attended Northeast Louisiana College on a football scholarship. He retired from Delta Airlines in Monroe, LA, after twenty-seven years.
His family will greatly miss this kind, gentle, generous, loving Christian man.
He is survived by his wife, Erma Pommier; sons, Ray Jr., Steven and wife Lori, Stewart Pommier and wife Tiffany; daughter, Ellen and husband Trey Gentile; grandchildren, Jennifer Benson, Reagan Pommier, Anthony Scalia, Kaitlin and husband James Montgomery, Ruby Gentile, Peter Gentile, Bailey and husband Shelby McGuffee, Tyler Pommier, and Chelsea, Isabella and Bryar Pommier; and eight great grandchildren; sister, Judy Cummings and husband Terrell; brothers and sister-in-law, John F. Marzula, Vernon McMillon and wife Sandra, and Sarah Humphries.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Molear and Ledia Cormier Pommier; brothers, Valsan, Norris and Russell Pommier; and sisters, Jane Best and Dorothy Perez.
Pallbearers will be Charles Humphries, Clay Humphries, Ricky McMillon, Jason McMillon, Chad McMillon, Johnny Poole, Anthony Scalia, Peter Gentile, Richard Lyle, Lynn Breaux and Jeff Best.
