Services for Mr. R. V. Arnold, Jr., 91 of Gilbert, will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, December 18, 2017 at First Baptist Church of Wisner, with Rev. Thomas Peoples officiating. Interment will follow in the Northeast Louisiana Veterans Cemetery in Rayville, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home in Winnsboro.
Mr. Arnold was a loyal Patriot, serving in the United States Navy in World War II. He loved making children laugh, and giving them ice cream. He always put his family first. He served as Justice of the Peace for 46 years, enjoyed owning his restaurant in Gilbert, where he served the public for 30 years, and helping others when in need. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Wisner for 42 years and was a deacon. He was also a Mason and Shriner, and always had a smile on his face. He was preceded in death by his parents; Richard V. Arnold, Sr. and Carrie Emfinger Arnold, son, David Arnold, and numerous brothers and sisters.
Survivors include: Wife of 56 years, Eloise Arnold of Gilbert, LA, 4 children; Marilyn Madison of Monroe, LA, Rhonda Clifford and husband Rodger of Foley, AL, R. V. Arnold, III and wife Nickie of Calhoun, LA, and John and Nancy Moroni of Gilbert, LA, 10 grandchildren; Amanda Morgan, Brandie Arnold, Cathi Gates, Kyle Clifford, Alli Alley, Michaela Madison, Chandler Arnold, Gaylen Arnold, Montana Moroni, and Luke Moroni, 10 great-grandchildren; Chloe Morgan, Drake Morgan, Emily Morgan, Tiffany Medlin, Dava Medlin, Leilana Meza, Silas Alley, CeaLee Alley, Levi Gates, and Kara Arnold, one sister-in-law Bobbie Jean Arnold, and special friend, Jane Holcomb.
Pallbearers will be Deacons of First Baptist Church of Wisner.
Honorary Pallbearers are: James and Wesley Lachney.
Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday, December 17th at First Baptist Church of Wisner.
