Funeral services for Mr. Prentiss Curry Hendricks, 88, of West Monroe, LA will be held at 10 AM Thursday, September 8, 2016 in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home West Monroe, LA with Dr. Dwight Munn officiating. Interment will follow at Kilpatrick's Serenity Gardens under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home.
Mr. Hendricks was born January 24, 1928 in West Monroe, LA and passed away Monday, September 5, 2016. He was a dedicated and loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He served in the US Navy at the end of WWII. He worked in the oilfields and was later self-employed with Hendricks Testing and Inspection. His favorite past-times were playing golf and shooting pool. He cherished his times with family. He also loved making desserts and almost always had a cake or pie ready for visitors. He was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Jean Johnston Hendricks; his parents Lyman Curry and Elvie Black Hendricks; and his brothers Dale and Wayne Hendricks.
He is survived by one daughter, Diane Sallinger (A.C.); three sons, Rick (Brenda), Scott (Susanne), and Greg Hendricks; seven grandchildren, Eric Sallinger (Mary Beth Foster), Sharon Sallinger (Kerry Gray), Chelle Cupit (Glenn), Erika Spencer (Jake), Lauren Zachry (Paul), Lindsey Gosdin (Jeremy), and Christie Bonvillain; fifteen great-grandchildren, Mia and Charleigh Sallinger, Caleb Sallinger, Kieran Gray, Ryan and Kelsey Cupit, Curry, Cam, and Cason Spencer, Haylea and Owen Zachry, Jude, Olivia, and Sutton Gosdin, and Jasmine Bonvillain and one sister Elva Dean Berry (Ned), and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Eric Sallinger, Glenn and Ryan Cupit, and Curry, Cam, and Cason Spencer.
Visitation will be held from 5PM to 8 PM Wednesday, September 7, 2016 and from 9AM to time of service Thursday, September 8, 2016 at Mulhearn Funeral Home in West Monroe.
