Prentice Wayne Beard

Funeral Services Celebrating the Life of Mr. Prentice Wayne “Piejoe” Beard, 82, of West Monroe, LA, will be held at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, July 17, 2021, at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church with Rev. Jeff May officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Vernon Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home in West Monroe.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M., Friday, July 16, 2021, at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church in West Monroe.

Mr. Beard was born on December 8, 1938 and passed away on July 13, 2021. He was a member of the IBEW Local #446. He worked as a Utility Lineman and Electrician and was an avid hunter.

Mr. Beard is preceded in death by his first wife, Margie Earline Beard; daughter, Dewana Gail Dulaney; and his grandson, Justin Beard.

Survivors include his wife, Leota Beard; children, Mark Beard and his grandson Jaxson Beard, Debra Lynn Cowan, Angela Redding and husband, Scott, Lisa Tull, Sonny Holley and wife Stephanie; grandchildren, Jason Cowan, Ashley Cowan, and Cody Cowan; and a host of grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Ellis Blount, Greg Wood, Roger Berry, Stevie McMillon, Scott Redding, and Kenny Brinson.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
