Funeral Services celebrating the Life of Mrs. Pinky T. “Cooney” Jenkins, 69, of West Monroe, LA, will be 2:00 PM Saturday, December 4, 2021, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Monroe, LA, with Pastor Scott Howell officiating. Interment will follow at Welcome Home Cemetery in Grayson, LA.
Cooney was born March 26, 1952 and went to be with her Lord and Savior on November 30, 2021 surrounded by her family. She enjoyed being outdoors, mowing, having front porch talks with “Fawnie” in her lap, collecting ceramic frogs, gardening, watching Gibbs on NCIS, LSU and the New Orleans Saints, but more importantly spending time with family. Cooney was a God loving woman, her faith was steadfast all throughout her journey.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Velda Thomisee; siblings, Bill Thomisee, James Thomisee, Clorice Breland, Ina Crow, Charlie Thomisee, Patsy Mayo, and Joy Kelly; and grandson, Joshua Caleb Walker.
Survivors include: two daughters, Christy Duchette and Jodi Wheeler; and son, Jason Wheeler; six grandchildren, Robyn Walker, Charles Wheeler, Brandon Wheeler, JoEy Duchette, Shi Duchette, and Andrew Haskins; three great-grandchildren, Addilyn Walker, Charlie Jo Wheeler, and Declan Walker; two sisters, Bobbie Lindsey, Lee Giddens; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many special friends.
Pallbearers will Joshua “Fugeo” Wiggins, Douglas “Big Spoon” Angell, Andrew “Smalls” Arnold, Jason “Pretty Boy” Benson, Eric “Cottonmouth” Sartor, and Mark “Clutch” Roper.
Visitation will be 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Friday, December 3, 2021, at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Monroe.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Hospice Compassus, who became extended family to her, for the loving care they provided.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or Ouachita Parish Animal Shelter.
