Peggy Tipton Ashcraft

Memorial services for Peggy Tipton Ashcraft, 80, of Monroe, will be held at 6:30 PM Monday, February 12, 2018, at All Saints Anglican Church, 4201 Forsythe Ave., Monroe, with Rev. Mark Blakley officiating. Graveside services are 3:00 PM, Saturday, April 7, 2018, at Riverview Cemetery, Monroe, LA, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Monroe.

Mrs. Ashcraft was born November 3, 1937, to Ben Rhupert and Madelyn Kinabrew Tipton and married to Wyche Washburn Ashcraft for 57 years. Peggy was preceded in death by her parents and her half-brother, Ben Rhupert Tipton.

She is survived by her husband, Wyche; her son, Benjamin Fletcher Ashcraft; granddaughter, Mary Peyton Ashcraft; grandsons, Corey Fletcher Ashcraft, Christopher Mims Ashcraft; and great-granddaughter, Madelyn Nichole Ashcraft; her son, Christopher Wyche Ashcraft and his wife Angela Shepard Ashcraft; two grandsons, Carson Wyche and Davis Crenshaw Ashcraft. Her brother, John Kinabrew Tipton and his wife Rosalee Authement Tipton, their two sons, Jay and Jeff Tipton.

Peggy graduated from Bastrop High School and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in English Education from the University of Louisiana at Monroe. She and Wyche moved to Bastrop where she worked for International Paper Company and Wyche began a job with Stauffer Chemical Company. They moved to Houston, Mobile, Atlanta, and Monroe over a 14-year period where they made many lasting friends.

Visitation will be from 4:30 PM until 6:30 PM Monday at All Saints Anglican Church.
