Funeral services celebrating the life of Mrs. Peggy Jeanette Owens, 71, of West Monroe, LA, will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, August 5, 2015, at Cypress Baptist Church in West Monroe, LA, with Rev. B. K. Miller, Rev. Richard Allen, and Rev. James O. Evans officiating. Graveside services will be conducted by Rev. Larry Eubanks in Cypress Baptist Cemetery, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home in West Monroe, LA.Peggy was born June 8, 1944, in Oak Ridge, TN, and passed away Saturday, August 1, at St. Luke’s Episcopal Medical Center in Houston, TX, following a brief illness.Peggy was an active member of Cypress Baptist Church in West Monroe. She served as the church clerk for many years and was the director of the children’s nursery. She was in the property and casualty insurance industry in her early years and had been working with her husband at G & O Service Company for over 30 years.Peggy was preceded in death by her father, Marvin C. Conrad, Sr.; Father-in-law and Mother-in-law, Dwight and Ethel Owens; Sisters-in-law, Nannette Brown and Sally Owens; Brother-in-law, Ray Edwards.Survivors include her loving husband of 53 years, Tom L. Owens; Sons and Daughters-in-law: Laron and Myla, Tim and Melody, and Brian and Audrea; Grandchildren: Kaylie, Caroline, Cassidy, and Will; Mother, Mrs. Ola Conrad; “Adopted Children”- Patrick, Leslie, and Landry Barrett; Brothers: Larry Conrad and wife, Margaret, and Marvin Conrad and wife, Terry; Sisters: Imogene Edwards and Janie Hughes and husband, Joe; Brothers-in-law: Rabeon Owens and wife, Anna; Bill Owens and wife, Janet; and Maxwell Brown and wife Margie; along with many nieces and nephews.Pallbearers will be Mike Brown, Steve Brown, Scott Owens, Randy Owens, Jeff Conrad, and Eric Conrad. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Deacons of Cypress Baptist Church, LRWA Board Members, Patrick Barrett, John Magee, Bud Wilhite, Glenn Varner, and loving nephews.Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.
